I wanted to confirm that today’s announcement from Australia Post regarding the pause on product exports from Australia to the US will not affect G-mee product availability.
Australia Post has advised that, due to new import tariff requirements under US Executive Order 14324, they have joined several international postal operators in temporarily suspending certain postal services to the US and Puerto Rico, effective immediately until further notice.
While this presents a challenge for many sellers, G-mee customers in the US will not be impacted. Here’s why:
- Local stock – All G-mee products sold in the US are already stored in-country through our established warehouse network.
- Shipping method – Our most popular items (battery-powered phones and smart players) cannot be shipped via Australia Post, as their airfreight partners do not accept these goods. When we need to replenish US stock, we use carriers better suited to these products.
- Accessories – While we have occasionally shipped accessories or smaller items from Australia or the EU to US customers, we currently have no need to do so.
This disruption is expected to be temporary. Australia Post has stated that it is partnering with Zonos®, an authorised CBP third-party provider, to implement a solution that will allow US services to resume.
In short, G-mee does not anticipate any supply issues for our US customers in the months ahead.
